My New Job
I recently started my job at Kindercare on Friday. I have only worked two days so far but what a crazy two days! I luckily only work Monday, Wednesday, Friday so I get a day break inbetween. At first they put me with the 4 year olds, not alone, for 3 hours, and then an after school class which is ages 12 and younger - which was the craziest bunch of kids I've ever seen!! They couldn't keep their hands off each other and wouldn't listen to me haha it was pretty stressful. Also we have to take head count every half hour and write up any problems kids have with each other, like hitting, bitting, etc. and then call the parents, which is scary to me haha. I'm not looking forward to dealing with parents. So anyways, friday was crazy. So Monday I came into work and they had decided to put me with the one year olds, which I liked a lot more!!! (I think they could tell I wasn't liking the older classes =) So the ones were great. We just play with them and try to keep them happy. So hopefully they keep me with the younger ones. Although there is this devil child haha all she does is go around and push kids, bite, throw shoes, chairs, whatever she can. And then when we'd come over to stop her she'd throw herself on the floor, hit her head on purpose, and start crying. ahhhhh She even bit my leg... she was a handful! It was awful to be quite honest. That's all she did for 6 hours, and so we had crying kids for 6 hours :( Luckily, she will be turning two this month and switch classes. Overall, I am liking it more and more! Well that is the update on my first 2 days of work!! to be continued...

Sounds like you are going to have your hands full!! I agree- I'd much rather take of 1 year olds over 12 year olds...Now does this mean you are changing a ton of diapers everyday =)?
Ahhh, the fun adventures of daycare. I was a preschool teacher for six years, so I totally know what you are going through. Hang in there, it gets better. Good luck and have fun!
I haven't personally changed any of the diapers yet because there's another girl in the class with me but eventually I will have to. We have to change about 10 kids diapers every two hours! How FUN!!!
I commiserate with the stress that you are feeling. But I was chuckling through the whole account. Like Stacy said, it'll get better. You'll get into a routine, bond with the kids, find your points of stress relief (like on your break!). Baptism by fire. You'll be fine.
Kelda what have you gotten yourself into? RUN AWAY! :)
Hey I'm going to try that caramel popcorn sometime this week. It's looks so good!
