Do you recommend flu shots? I feel like people get the flu after they get the shot. How about the swine flu vaccination? It's so new it kinda scares me, but getting the swine flu pregnant scares me too!! Pregnant women have a higher risk of death if they get the swine flu!! (click to read about it). I know stats are ify and all, so who knows what to believe, but I am interested in what people think of these vaccines. I seem to get pretty sick once a year around the holidays so maybe I should get the flu shot...?
My #1 step to sickness prevention is? No more nail bitting!!! Terrible habit!!!!

Lol, I am SO sorry! I should never have said anything to you about the swine flu. Personally, I almost never have the kids get the flu shot. I am not sure what I will do this year though. I will not have them get the swine flu vaccination. I think it's scary because it's new and there have been some reports that it can have some serious side effects.
Also- Since your pregnant you might want to at least get the flu shot. I don't know if it really works, but it's worth it if it does.
I am all about it. I actually need to get both this year. I have a compromised immune system, so I don't think EVERYONE needs a flu shot, but yes, since you are pregnant, I would suggest you totally look into it. Call your doc!
I never got the flu shot before I had kids and every year I got the flu. When I was 15 weeks prego with Cambree I got the flu and let me tell you, I was 1,000 times sicker then I'd ever been. Completely miserable! Since I've had the kids we've gotten the flu shot every year and none of us have got sick. So I would defintely get it. We still need to get ours for this year! I don't know about the swine flu just because it's so new and that's kinda scary, but I'll probably end up getting us vaccinated for it too.
I would definitely not! Check this out http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/10/06/Why-You-Should-NOT-Vaccinate-Your-Children-Against-the-Flu-This-Season.aspx
P.S. My kids had the swine flu & all it was was a small fever for a day, then they were a little stuffed up for 3 days.. not a big deal. I think it's maybe old people w/ breathing problems that need to watch out.
Great video
