6 months!

Isabel is 6 months today (or yesterday?)  It's tricky counting when every month doesn't have a 31st.  Either way, she's growing up so fast!!  She's been with us HALF A YEAR!  It's so crazy!  I just might pass out when she hits a year old.  She had you 6 month apt today and she weighs 15lbs 10oz (50%) and is 28 inches long (97%).

These past 6 months have been life changing.  We have learned and changed so much, and so has Izzy =)  She's gone from a tough newborn, to a sweet, happy baby.  She's so loud and energetic at home, but when she's around new people, or lots, she gets very overwhelmed.  She's teething which has been hard on us all.  she finally started sleeping through the night, but then she started teething and wakes almost every hour.  She also started taking a 2 hour morning nap, but her schedule is all messed up now because of teething.  Her two bottom teeth have cut through so I hope the worst is over, for now anyways.  I need to sleep!  As you can tell from her pics, she's so smily!  It's one of my favorite things about her.  She can scoot backwards, but I think she's trying to scoot forwards :)  She sure is getting around now.  I'll put her down and then a few minutes later she's made her way under her swing, or on the hardwood floor, or almost under the couch; this is very frustrating to her ; )  She can get up in the crawl position and rocks back and forth.  She rolls both ways easily now.  When she wants to be picked up she'll put all her weight on her belly, lift her arms and start kicking, it's pretty funny.  She's loves to be held and if she had it her way I'm sure she would never want to be put down.  She loves mickey mouse.  It's the only thing she'll watch (only for a few minutes though, unfortunately).  She smiles when she sees him.  She's sitting a little better but still tips very easily.  I hope she picks it up soon cause I want to take her 6 month pictures with her sitting.  She's learning to climb.  If shes sitting facing me she'll grab my shirt and pull herself up.  She's starting to interact a lot more.  We were feeding her green beans and she was making the funniest faces, we started laughing, she quickly caught on and started making those faces on purpose so we'd laugh.  She hated those beans so much she started gagging lol.  She LOVES baby food and is doing so well on it.  It's hard to get her to eat just the cereal now, she's just wanting the food.  She likes them all expect the green beans and peas.  Who can blame here, I don't even eat those ;)  The doctor gave us the ok to start her on 2nd foods.  Solids sure has helped her sleep better.

One thing about a newbown that I was super excited about was taking her newborn pictures.  But of course I got a baby that was a light sleeper and once awake, was wide awake.  So I attempted many times to take naked newborn pictures of her.  She's not your typical newborn.  Like I said, she was a light sleeper, I couldn't move her, I couldn't put her down once she feel asleep, and I couldn't undress her while asleep, she had to be swaddled to sleep too, which made newborn pictures IMPOSSIBLE.  I tried undressing her while awake then lightly swaddling her and once asleep I'd lay her down but and try to unswaddle but she imediately woke, anyways, I could go on about it.  One rare day she feel asleep in the car and I brought her in in her car seat and took her out expecting her to wake but she didn't!! I already had things for pics set up so I layed her on her tummy (which would also usually wake her) and she stayed asleep! unfortunately she was clothed, and in polka dots :( but I at least got some pictures.  NOTHING like I wanted but these are better than none.  So here they are:  They're black and white because the clothes were way too distracting.  The polka dots are like lime green and the flowers hot pink I think.  I can't believe how different she looks!  for some reason, no eyelashes make a big difference.

She didn't stay asleep for long, but long enough.  I'm so jealous of those sleepy newborns!

Hey! I found your blog off of Chelsea's! Your little girl is so cute! I am sorry that teething has messed up her sleeping habits. It seems like that always happens you just get life under control and then they start teething or get sick and mess everything up. Have you tried teething tablets? Those were a life saver for us! Also motrin instead of tylonel (sp?) It helps reduce the swelling and takes away the pain. Hopefully they will cut quickly and you can get back to a normal schedule.
