kitchen redo

Our house is a little out dated and in need of a face lift.  I get excited about working on one thing that I just jump into it and then don't finish and move to the next...not good.  I started with our stair banisters then got sick half way through, then once I was better instead of finishing them I started on the kitchen cabinets, which was crazy of me because that is a huge commitment!  I decided to go back to the stairs and once thats done start on the kitchen.  I'm nervous about painting the cabinets because the little bit that I did took me about 6 days to finish!  Not only do I have a baby that needs constant attention but painting cabinets requires a lot of layers of paint and dry time.  Well hopefully it won't take me longer then 2 months...here's a picture of the little bit I did.  It'll be so nice to have it done, just need to finish the stairs.  Has anyone painted banisters before?  They're hard!

Added beadboard wall paper.  When we replace the tile counter tops I think I'll put in real beadboard.

Hey Kelda,

How did you get your cabinets looking so smooth? I am painting our cabinets white right now too, and you can see brush strokes, which I don't really like. What kind of paint did you use etc?
