I have a love/hate relationship with the pacifier. Izzy's starting to become dependent on it to fall asleep and I don't know if I like that. But at the same time its so nice cause it works! I'm just afraid it causes some night wakings. Curious if you used a pacifier. If so, are you glad you did? or did you find it caused more problems then helped?

I've only ever had Amelia use one at night to go to sleep. I don't think she's completely dependent on it, and since her first birthday is in a few days we will be saying sayonara to the pacifier. I can't stand to see little 2+ year olds running around with a binky in their mouth. But at night I think it's fine. Even if Izzy becomes dependent on it I say let it work until you think she's too old to have it and then it will just take a few days to make the adjustment when you get rid of it.
Cambree loved the binky the first couple months of life, but was never really dependent on one. She learned really quickly how to grab her binky and throw it and then expect me to give it back so we got rid of it quick after that! If the binky helps Izzy sleep and it doesn't interupt her sleep too much I would go for it. Mason's been a thumb sucker since birth and he's the best self soother. It's been really nice. The plus side for you is you can take away a binky when Izzy gets too old, but I can't take a thumb away from my 2 year old!
My daughter used a pacifier all the time until she turned 9 months. Then, she just refused it. It was frustrating at first, but then really nice because I didn't have to worry about her being one of those toddlers who still need it. Maybe Isabel will just decide on her own one day...
I use it, but not everytime. I felt the same way with Livy and I didn't want her to always have it. Usually she goes down now without one, but if she has had a bad day the binky really helps.
