Here's the story
Leaving for hospital
Last Wednesday, Jan 23 2013, I woke with bad contractions at around 3am but they were very irregular. I tried sleeping through them but couldn't so I decided to stay awake and time them. They were all over the place. 20 mins, 5 mins, 30 mins, etc. but very painful. I could feel it in my back, stomach, and thighs. I had an apt in the morning so I thought maybe I'd get lucky and be dilated enough to be sent to the hospital and get induced. I didn't think I was in labor at the time since the contractions were so irregular. I noticed blood at around 4:30 which terrified me so I called my doctor and she said to head to the hospital. I was pretty sure at this point I was in labor but Cameron thought they'd send us home. While this was all going on we called Cameron's Mom to come over and stay with Isabel. I think Isabel knew something was up because she kept waking up, which was unusual for her. When his Mom got there we headed to the hospital. Contractions painful but bearable and still irregular. We got there at about 5:30am, signed in, and they took us to our room. By this time I couldn't talk through the contractions but they were still all over the place. I got checked and was a 5, so they said I could stay ;). By 6am I was having extremely painful contractions every 1-2 mins! Out of no where they come on strong and fast, I thought I was going to die! Seriously, I don't know how women do natural labor. Worst pain ever! I was sweating and shaking and thought I throw up (but didn't luckily). I was a mess, whining and begging for the epidural. They had to do blood work and a few other things before I could get it so I was one unhappy girl! Poor Cameron, he had no idea what to do, we weren't prepared for this at all. I've never taken a lamaze class or anything to prepare for contractions so when I'd get one I had no idea what to do because the pain was unbearable! I think my whining paid off because they were definitely in a hurry to get me my epidural. I believe I got it a little before 7am. It went to my right side only again, just like with Isabel, but laying on my left side drained it over there. A little after 7am I was about pain free and soooo relieved. Anymore contractions would have about killed me ;) I felt pressure soon after so they checked me and I was an 8, by 7:15am I was a 10! Doctor got there at about 7:30am and I pushed through about 5 contractions and out she came; born at 7:46am. She had the cord around her neck which was terrifying and it took her a few seconds to cry; what a relief when she finally did. I couldn't believe we just had our baby and I could believe how fast labor went. Got there at 5:30 and had her at 7:46! I was so excited to see she had hair and olive skin - total opposite of Isabel. It took us a while to pick a name but we decided on Bailey Elizabeth Adams. She's 1 week today which is hard to believe. After having Isabel I now know how fast time goes. Makes me sad to think of it. Isabel is so good with her. She loves her so much and likes to make sure we're gonna keep her :)
Her Stats:
Birth: 7lbs 8oz, 20 in
1 week: 7lbs 15oz, 21 ins
I tried to get a similar picture of Bailey as I did Isabel. I believe Isabel is 2 weeks in her photo. Bailey is 1 week. Isabel's lighting and quality isn't as good as Bailey's but oh well :) To me, they look SO different!

Love the post! So, I think 7 was when I got my epidural with Chloe and I can still remember the pain (I'm such a wuss). Glad she's here and healthy!
I think the hospital staff should be quicker about getting, us women who do not want to do a natural labor, our epidurals! Just saying! :o) She is beautiful and I am so glad everything went great! Isn't it crazy how much quicker the 2nd one is? I think you are right Izzy and Bailey don't look anything alike. They are gorgeous!!!
Haven't been to your blog in a while, love the story & pics! Congrats! Hope we can meet her soon.
